Duanny was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, but spent every summer in a small town east of Havana called Seibabo, Cuba. While his fall through spring was spent surrounded by casinos and bright lights, his summers were spent running through mud and eating palitroque. These trips gave him an early perspective on both where he comes from and the privilege of being able to pursue a dream, shaping the kinds of stories he hopes to tell.
Despite his deep connection to Cuban culture, Duanny’s love of performing began with Baile Folklórico, a traditional Mexican dance style. This passion led him to improvisational theatre in middle school and eventually to major in theatre at Las Vegas Academy of the Performing Arts. There, he had the opportunity to perform in a wide range of classical and contemporary works, always searching for the smile of his mom in the audience.
He did something revolutionary…. moved out to Los Angeles to pursue acting. Now graduated with a B.F.A., Duanny is excited to take on new opportunities and tell meaningful stories, bringing his passion, discipline, and Cuban flair to every role.
